For an early career creative writer, I was honoured that a memoir prose work I entered into the Hunter Writers Centre 2022 Grieve Writing Competition was among those selected to be published in its 10th anniversary anthology.

My entry, 'Precious Cargo', is about something I experienced while travelling to the USA to scatter some of my late brother's ashes.

Writing on grief isn't necessarily something anyone is thrilled to do, but by sharing our stories, even the painful ones, it may help others feel less alone.
